Glycol Refractometer / Antifreeze Refractometer / Coolant Refractometer
This model can be used for measuring the freezing point of either propylene or ethylene glycol based cooling systems. The Refractometer measures concentration of coolant mixture in engine. The refractometer automatically corrects for temperature on both types of coolant (ethylene and propylene glycol) while also measuring battery charge level. It can also be used for checking the strength of electrolyte solution batteries.
This model is designed to measure either Propylene Glycol or Ethylene GlycolAntifreezes and Battery Fluid. Checking these fluids will allow you to measureyour radiator and battery's performance. The refractometer will insure that allis working properly, and not causing problems (like rust potential, prone tofreezing, poor charging, etc.). Automatic Temperature Compensation (or “ATC”)allows for accurate readings in fluctuating environments (like outdoors); unitswithout ATC will be more inaccurate the further away from 68F the temperaturebecomes. This unit is also fantastic for other applications like testing aviationgrade hydraulic oils (like Skydrol), Glycol-based heat transfer fluids, and fireresistant hydraulic fluids used in die-casting or foundry applications.
This is made of sturdy machined aluminum withdurable plastic eyepiece and knurled finger grip. Unlike other Refractometers,this model is unique in that it has an INTERNAL LIGHT! Using (3) 1.5 Volt buttonbatteries this unit makes readings possible no matter the lighting situation!
